2026 Winter Olympics Tickets: Sales Surge as Global Demand Rises

Ticket sales for the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo formally launched this week, signaling a surge in global enthusiasm for the first Italian-hosted Winter Olympics in two decades. Over 660,000 tickets were snapped up during pre-sale phases, with Germany, the U.S., the UK, and France among the top international buyers. The event, scheduled from February 6–22, 2026, promises 16 days of elite competition across 116 events.

Early Bird Rush and Digital Accessibility

Discounted early bird tickets remain available until May 6, with most purchases driven by 25–34-year-olds. Organizers confirmed a 25-ticket purchase limit per buyer, all managed digitally. Free name changes for resale will begin in December via the official app.

Venues and Legacy

Events will span historic locations like Milan’s futuristic arenas, the Alpine peaks of Cortina d’Ampezzo, and Verona’s Roman-era Arena for the closing ceremony. The Paralympic Games will follow in March 2026, featuring 79 medal events.

Visa is the exclusive payment partner, with organizers urging buyers to avoid third-party sellers to ensure ticket validity.
