Chinese Skiers Shine with Silver Medals at World Championships in Switzerland

Chinese athletes showcased their aerial prowess at the FIS Snowboard/Freestyle/Freeski World Championships in Corviglia, Switzerland, with veteran skier Xu Mengtao securing a silver medal in the women's aerials event on Sunday.

The competition saw three Chinese skiers advance to the final round. Xu, a seven-time World Championships participant, delivered a near-flawless second run scoring 99.16 points, trailing only American athlete Kaila Kuhn's 105.13. Australia's Danielle Scott claimed bronze with 96.93 points.

Teammates Chen Xuezheng and Shao Qi finished fourth and sixth respectively, underscoring the depth of China's freestyle skiing program. Xu's podium finish continues her remarkable consistency in major international competitions, reinforcing her status as a global leader in aerial skiing.

The event draws attention to Asian athletes' growing influence in winter sports ahead of upcoming international contests, offering inspiration for emerging talents across the region.
