Kim Chae-yeon Dominates Women’s Short Program at ISU Four Continents Championships

At the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships held in Seoul on Friday, South Korea's Kim Chae-yeon showcased her exceptional talent by securing the lead in the women's short program. Competing against 20 other skaters, Kim delivered a flawless performance, earning an impressive score of 74.02 points that captivated the enthusiastic home crowd.

Among the Chinese competitors, An Xiangyi, Zhu Yi, and Chen Hongyi finished in 12th to 16th places. Zhu Yi, who had previously achieved her best result at the Harbin Asian Winter Games, executed multiple triple jumps with ease, finishing 15th with 48.38 points. Despite battling an injury, Chen Hongyi demonstrated remarkable spins and footwork, earning 16th place with 47.57 points. An Xiangyi also delivered a strong performance, closing the short program in 12th place with 57.63 points.

In the pairs event, Japan's Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kihara secured the gold medal with a total score of 217.32 points, highlighted by a stellar free skate performance that earned them 142.59 points. Canada took home the silver and bronze medals through Deanna Stellato-Dudek and Maxime Deschamps, and Lia Pereira and Trennt Michaud, respectively. Stellato-Dudek and Deschamps made a notable comeback from a challenging short program to claim the silver position.
