China Faces Australia in Crucial AFC U-20 Asian Cup Clash

China is set to face Australia in their third group stage match of the AFC Under-20 Asian Cup in Shenzhen on Tuesday. The tournament hosts secured their spot in the knockout phase following a convincing 5-2 victory over Kyrgyzstan on Saturday.

However, China will be missing midfielder Liu Chenyu, who was suspended after accumulating yellow cards during the matches against Qatar and Kyrgyzstan. Additionally, players Yi Mulan, Yan Xi, and Wang Yifan each have one yellow card and may face substitution depending on the game's progression.

Looking ahead to the quarterfinals, China could be matched up against Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, or the DPRK from Group B. While the host nation has started the tournament strongly with back-to-back victories, defensive vulnerabilities have been identified, which will be a key focus in their upcoming match against Australia and as they progress further into the knockout stages.
