China Dominates Harbin 2025 Asian Winter Games with Stellar Performances

Chinese athletes continued to assert their dominance at the Asian Winter Games held in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, on Thursday. The host nation maintained its leading position on the medal table, showcasing exceptional performances across multiple events.

The day began with a triumphant victory in the women's biathlon 4×6 kilometer relay. The Chinese team, comprising Meng Fanqi, Tang Jialin, Wen Ying, and Chu Yuanmeng, secured China’s 32nd gold medal in the ninth edition of the continental competition. The team completed the relay in an impressive time of 1 hour, 29 minutes, and 6.3 seconds, outpacing South Korea by 21 seconds and earning Kazakhstan the bronze.

In the men's 4×7.5 kilometer relay, the Chinese squad of Hu Weiyao, Wu Hantu, Yan Xingyuan, and Gu Cang achieved a commendable bronze finish with a time of 1 hour, 25 minutes, and 32.7 seconds. Earlier in the day, Gu Cang had also clinched bronze in the men's 7.5-kilometer sprint, contributing to China’s overall medal tally.

The biathlon events concluded at the Yabuli Resort, highlighting China's strong performance in winter sports. Additionally, the women's snowboard halfpipe final, which was canceled, saw China's Wu Shaotong securing a bronze medal based on qualifying round scores. Veteran athlete Cai Xuetong narrowly missed the podium, finishing in fourth place.

These achievements underscore China's continued investment and excellence in winter sports, positioning the nation as a formidable competitor in the Asian Winter Games.
