Breaking new ground, 19-year-old Liu Qingyi, also known as B-Girl 671, made her Olympic debut in breaking—a sport introduced for the first time at the Olympics. After a hard-fought semifinal against Dominika Banevic of Lithuania, Liu secured a historic bronze medal by outperforming India Sardjoe of the Netherlands.

Deng Yawen’s Golden Performance in BMX Freestyle

At the iconic Place de la Concorde, 19-year-old Deng Yawen clinched gold in the women’s BMX freestyle competition with a stunning performance. Humble in victory, Deng expressed gratitude, saying she felt lucky to win.

Wu Peng’s Silver in Speed Climbing

China also made breakthroughs in speed climbing, as 22-year-old Wu Peng earned a silver medal in the men’s event. The Hunan native completed the final in 4.77 seconds, just 0.02 seconds behind Indonesia’s Veddriq Leonardo, who claimed his country’s first gold in Paris.

Cui Chenxi’s Skateboarding Achievement

In women’s skateboarding, 15-year-old Cui Chenxi finished in fourth place, marking China’s best result in the event to date. Her performance highlights the potential of China’s youth in emerging Olympic sports.
