The Shanghai Sharks soared to their eighth consecutive victory in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) on Monday, overwhelming the Jilin Northeast Tigers with a commanding 138-101 triumph at home.
The game kicked off with Eric Bledsoe delivering a perfectly timed pass over the top to Li Hongquan, who nailed a corner triple, putting the Sharks ahead by three. Kenneth Lofton furthered the momentum by driving in and extending the hosts’ lead to six points.
Not to be outdone, Jilin battled back fiercely in the second quarter. Cui Jinming drilled a three-pointer, propelling the visitors to an eight-point advantage. When Tomas Kyzlink missed a triple, Zhao Jiahao was quick to seize the rebound, pushing Jilin’s edge to ten points.
The intensity escalated in the third quarter as Bledsoe dished to Lofton, whose three-pointer leveled the score at 74-all. The Sharks then unleashed a relentless offensive assault. Li Tianrong, on fire from beyond the arc, drilled one of his seven triples, catapulting Shanghai ahead by eleven. Li Hongquan added another three-pointer, en route to his team-high 34 points.
In the closing moments, Yan Pengfei contributed critical points, helping the Sharks seal a resounding 37-point victory. The win not only extends Shanghai’s impressive winning streak but also solidifies their position as formidable contenders in this season’s CBA.
