Ten-Man Liverpool Battles to 2-2 Draw Against Fulham at Anfield

Liverpool faced a challenging evening at Anfield, settling for a 2-2 draw against Fulham in a thrilling Premier League encounter on Saturday.

The home side was reduced to ten men early in the match when Andy Robertson received a red card just six minutes after Andreas Pereira opened the scoring for Fulham with a stunning volley.

Showing resilience, Liverpool equalized two minutes into the second half through Cody Gakpo, reinvigorating their hopes of securing a win.

However, Fulham regained the lead fourteen minutes from time when Rodrigo Muniz capitalized on Antonee Robinson’s second assist of the game, slotting the ball past Liverpool’s goalkeeper.

Undeterred, Liverpool continued to press forward. In the 86th minute, Diogo Jota marked his return from injury with a crucial goal, finishing calmly after being set up by Darwin Nunez, ensuring the match ended in a draw.

Despite being held to a draw, Arne Slot’s side avoided a second league defeat of the season. They now have 36 points from 15 games, extending their lead to five points over second-place Chelsea.
