China’s Li Chunjian and Shi Yaolong Secure Sixth Place in IBSF World Cup Two-Man Bobsleigh

At the IBSF World Cup held in Sigulda, Lativa, China’s bobsleigh team showcased a promising performance in the two-man event. The duo of Li Chunjian and Shi Yaolong delivered a commendable effort, finishing sixth among a competitive field of 19 pairs.

In the first round, Li and Shi clocked a time of 49.81 seconds, securing the sixth position. Their teammates, Sun Kaizhi and Ye Jielong, were close behind, recording a time of 50.20 seconds and ranking 12th.

The second round saw Li and Shi maintain their consistency, completing the course in 50.03 seconds. Their combined time of 1 minute, 39.87 seconds solidified their sixth-place finish. Sun and Ye concluded the event in 13th place with a total time of 1 minute, 40.80 seconds.

The competition was fierce, with Germany’s legendary bobsledder Francesco Friedrich, partnered with Simon Wulff, claiming the top spot. The pair completed the event with a remarkable time of 1 minute, 38.68 seconds. This victory marked the 34-year-old Friedrich’s 49th two-man bobsleigh World Cup title, further cementing his status in the sport.

China’s performance in this World Cup event highlights the growing strength and competitiveness of its bobsleigh athletes on the international stage. As the season progresses, the Chinese teams aim to build on this momentum and achieve even greater success in upcoming competitions.
