China’s Li and Shi Secure Sixth Place in IBSF World Cup Two-Man Bobsleigh

In the thrilling slopes of Sigulda, Latvia, the IBSF World Cup witnessed a remarkable performance from China’s bobsleigh athletes. Li Chunjian and Shi Yaolong showcased their prowess, finishing sixth in the fiercely competitive two-man bobsleigh event. Their compatriots, Sun Kaizhi and Ye Jielong, also delivered a commendable performance, securing the 13th position among 19 elite pairs.

During the first run, Li and Shi clocked an impressive 49.81 seconds, establishing themselves firmly in sixth place. Close on their heels were Sun and Ye, who posted a time of 50.20 seconds, placing them 12th in the initial rankings.

The second run intensified as teams battled for improved standings. Li and Shi maintained their consistency, recording a time of 50.03 seconds. Their combined time of 1 minute and 39.87 seconds secured them the sixth spot overall. Sun and Ye concluded the event with a total time of 1 minute and 40.80 seconds, finishing 13th.

At the top of the podium stood Germany’s legendary bobsledder, Francesco Friedrich, alongside his partner Simon Wulff. The duo dominated the competition with a stellar time of 1 minute and 38.68 seconds. This victory marks the 49th two-man bobsleigh World Cup title for the 34-year-old Friedrich, further cementing his legacy in the sport.

The impressive performances by the Chinese teams reflect their growing strength in winter sports, signaling a promising future on the international stage.
