China’s Chen Long and South Korea’s Lee Yong-dae Inducted into BWF Hall of Fame

China’s badminton superstar Chen Long and South Korea’s Lee Yong-dae have been inducted into the 2024 Badminton World Federation (BWF) Hall of Fame, recognizing their outstanding contributions to the sport.

At 35, Chen Long is celebrated as one of the Chinese mainland’s greatest ever players. He played a central role during what is often referred to as a golden era for Chinese badminton, renowned for his ability to perform under pressure. Chen’s illustrious career includes a gold medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics, a silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and a bronze medal from the 2012 London Olympics. He also clinched two World Championship titles and amassed 22 Super Series and World Tour titles.

Meanwhile, Lee Yong-dae is honored for his remarkable career as a doubles specialist. Representing the Republic of Korea, Lee secured a gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. His exceptional skill and dedication have left a lasting impact on the sport of badminton.

The induction of both athletes into the BWF Hall of Fame highlights their significant achievements and the enduring legacy they leave in the world of badminton.
