The Chinese shooting team showcased an outstanding performance at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup Final in New Delhi, India, on Tuesday, clinching three gold medals. The champions, Huang Yuting, Sheng Lihao, and Xie Yu, demonstrated exceptional skill and composure against some of the world’s finest shooters.
In the women’s 10-meter air rifle event, 18-year-old Huang Yuting broke the world record, scoring an impressive 254.5 points. Competing against top athletes like Germany’s Anna Janssen, who set a new qualification world record with 636.9 points, Huang remained unfazed. She took an early lead after the first series and closed in on the previous world record of 250.4 points, held by her compatriot Han Jiayu. With two perfect 10.9 shots in the penultimate series, Huang seized the opportunity to make history.
“It’s an unforgettable year, a shining chapter in my 18th year. I have learned and gained so much,” Huang reflected on her achievement.
Sonam Uttam Maskar of India secured the silver medal with 252.9 points, while Oceanne Muller of France earned bronze.
Sheng Lihao and Xie Yu also contributed to China’s gold medal tally, showcasing the depth of talent within the team. Their victories solidify China’s position as a powerhouse in the international shooting arena.
