Chinese shooters made a remarkable impact at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup Final in New Delhi, India, on Tuesday, securing three gold medals and setting a new world record.
Eighteen-year-old Huang Yuting spearheaded the triumph by claiming the women's 10-meter air rifle title, shattering the previous world record with an impressive score of 254.5 points. Competing against some of the world's elite shooters, including Germany's Anna Janssen—who had set a new qualification world record of 636.9 points—Huang demonstrated exceptional skill and composure.
Taking the lead from the outset, Huang consistently delivered outstanding shots. In the penultimate series, she achieved two perfect 10.9 scores, bringing her tantalizingly close to the previous world record of 250.4 points held by her compatriot, Han Jiayu. Capitalizing on her momentum, Huang seized the opportunity to etch her name in the record books.
\"It's an unforgettable year, a shining chapter in my 18th year. I have learned and gained so much,\" Huang reflected after her historic win.
In the same event, Sonam Uttam Maskar of India secured the silver medal with 252.9 points, while Oceanne Muller of France took bronze.
Chinese shooters Sheng Lihao and Xie Yu also delivered gold-medal performances in their respective events, contributing to China's dominant presence at the competition.
