Top seed Sun Yingsha defeated qualifier Fan Siqi in four straight games to secure her spot in the women’s singles final at the World Table Tennis (WTT) China Smash in Beijing. Sun will compete against Wang Manyu for the championship title.
A dark horse in the tournament, Fan Siqi enjoyed a smooth journey from the qualification rounds to the semifinals. However, Sun, currently ranked World No. 1, took command early by winning the first game 11-7.
Demonstrating her dominance, Sun claimed the second game 11-5 and swiftly secured the third game 11-3. She sealed her victory by taking the fourth game 11-9, ending Fan’s impressive run in the competition.
The upcoming final promises an exciting showdown between Sun and Wang, as both athletes vie for top honors at the WTT China Smash.
