Li Yajie Secures Gold for Shanxi at Chinese National Diving Championship
In a remarkable display of skill and composure, Li Yajie clinched the women’s 1-meter springboard gold medal at the Chinese National Diving Championship in Shanghai on Thursday. Scoring an impressive 313.03 points, Li secured the first gold medal for Shanxi Province at the tournament.
The 1-meter springboard event, reinstated as a medal event in the Chinese National Games, attracted top athletes from across the nation. Li Yajie and Lin Shan emerged as frontrunners in the fiercely contested event. Li, the 2022 World Champion in Budapest, stood against Lin, who claimed the world title in Fukuoka in 2023.
Dominating the competition, Li led all divers across the five rounds. Her final dive, a 305C with a degree of difficulty of 3.0, earned her 70.5 points. Lin Shan finished second, trailing by 23.7 points.
