Chinese Table Tennis Stars Shine at WTT Champions Macao

Chinese table tennis players showcased their dominance at the World Table Tennis (WTT) Champions Macao in China’s Macao Special Administrative Region on Wednesday, advancing further into the tournament with impressive performances.

In the women’s singles round of 16, Wang Manyu swept past local player Zhu Yuling in straight sets, winning 11-5, 11-4, 11-6. The match marked Zhu’s return to competitive play after a four-year hiatus, and Wang expressed her happiness at seeing the 29-year-old back at the table.

“Today’s match is bigger than the result,” Wang Manyu told reporters. “I don’t think it’s easy for Zhu Yuling to come back to play. I’m happy to play with her in the match again.”

World number one Sun Yingsha continued her stellar form, defeating Kim Na-yeong of South Korea 11-9, 11-6, 11-7 to secure her spot in the quarterfinals.

On the men’s side, Chinese paddlers Liang Jingkun, Lin Shidong, and Xu Yingbin also triumphed over their opponents, further solidifying China’s strong presence in the tournament.

The WTT Champions Macao has drawn top talent from around the globe, and China’s players are demonstrating their skill and competitiveness on the international stage. Fans worldwide are eagerly anticipating the upcoming matches as the tournament progresses.
