Chinese Swimmers Conclude 2024 Paralympics with Outstanding Success

Chinese athletes added another 11 gold, nine silver, and eight bronze medals on Saturday at the 2024 Summer Paralympic Games in Paris, further extending the team’s lead on the medal table.

On the final day of swimming competitions, China continued its dominant performance by claiming four gold medals. Zhang Meng secured the women’s 200-meter individual medley SM10 title in 2:26.81, setting a new Asian record.

In the men’s 100-meter backstroke S6 final, Yang Hong and Wang Jingang finished first and second, respectively. Yang clinched the gold medal with a time of 1:14.31, just 0.85 seconds ahead of Wang.

Jiang Yuyan captured her seventh gold medal of the 2024 Paralympic Games and broke her third world record by winning the women’s 100-meter backstroke S6 final in 1:19.44. She surpassed the previous world record holder, Ellie Marks of the United States, in a thrilling race. Jiang is set to carry the Chinese flag at the closing ceremony on Sunday.

China’s exceptional performance in swimming has significantly contributed to its top position on the medal table, showcasing the athletes’ dedication and prowess on the international stage.
