Salah Shines as Liverpool Humiliate Manchester United at Old Trafford

Liverpool reasserted their dominance over Manchester United on Sunday by securing a resounding 3-0 victory at Old Trafford, with Mohamed Salah enjoying another stellar performance.

Salah scored for the seventh consecutive game at Old Trafford and provided two first-half assists for Luis Diaz, contributing to United’s latest humiliation at the hands of their fiercest rivals in what is historically the biggest game in English football.

“I agree with you,” Salah responded when asked if it was an easy game for Liverpool. “I was a little surprised. The game could have finished five or six.”

This performance brings Salah’s tally to 15 goals against United in all competitions since joining Liverpool in 2017. The vocal visiting supporters serenaded him as the match drew to a close.

Meanwhile, Manchester United’s Casemiro endured a forgettable afternoon. The Brazilian midfielder was at fault for both of Diaz’s goals—first with a sloppy pass and then after being dispossessed—and was substituted at halftime for 20-year-old Toby Collyer.

Casemiro’s struggles come just days after United invested $55 million in Manuel Ugarte, a Uruguayan defensive midfielder from Paris Saint-Germain, signaling potential changes in United’s midfield dynamics.

Despite spending $240 million this summer and retaining manager Erik ten Hag after last season’s disappointing eighth-place finish, United have lost two of their opening three league games, winning the other narrowly against Fulham.

For many United fans, the once-dominant force in European football, little seems to have changed since the club last lifted the league title in 2013 under Alex Ferguson.
