Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham Out for a Month Due to Leg Injury

Real Madrid fans worldwide are facing a setback as superstar midfielder Jude Bellingham has been sidelined due to a muscular injury. The club announced on Friday that Bellingham suffered a muscle injury in his right leg during training and is expected to be out of action until mid-September.

“After tests carried out today by Real Madrid’s medical services on our player Jude Bellingham, he has been diagnosed with an injury in the plantaris muscle in his right leg,” the club stated in an official announcement.

Head coach Carlo Ancelotti addressed the situation in a news conference, saying, “[Bellingham] got a knock. We’re evaluating it.”

Since his arrival at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu in July 2023, Bellingham has quickly become one of Real Madrid’s most integral players. The English midfielder scored 23 goals and provided 14 assists last season, playing a pivotal role in helping the Spanish giants secure both the La Liga and UEFA Champions League titles.

Real Madrid began their 2024-25 La Liga campaign with a 1-1 draw against RCD Mallorca on the road on August 18. Looking ahead, they will host Real Valladolid for their first home game of the season on Sunday. Fans are eagerly anticipating the debut of their biggest summer signing, Kylian Mbappé, who is set to make his first appearance at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Reflecting on the season opener, Ancelotti acknowledged areas for improvement: “It was quite clear in terms of the evaluation. We lacked balance at times and we have to work on that. It isn’t too complicated. When the problem is clear, there’s a clear solution.”

Amid concerns about integrating star players like Rodrygo, Mbappé, Vinícius Junior, and Bellingham together on the pitch, Ancelotti dismissed any issues. “[Rodrygo] told me he’s very happy here,” he affirmed. “He’s working hard, he’s been one of the best in these games, so there’s no problem with him.”

Bellingham’s absence will undoubtedly be felt, but Real Madrid’s deep roster and the addition of Mbappé provide optimism for fans as the team navigates the early stages of the season.
