Chinese Paralympic Delegation Sets Off for Paris on Wednesday

The Chinese Paralympic delegation is set to depart for Paris on Wednesday in two batches, marking a significant moment as they head to compete in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. The announcement was made during a motivational conference held in Beijing on Tuesday, attended by all delegation members.

At the conference, Cheng Kai, leader of the Chinese Paralympic delegation and president of China’s Disabled Persons Federation, delivered an inspiring message to the athletes. He emphasized the importance of self-discipline, the will to fight, and the faith to win. Cheng urged the delegation to make all-out efforts to accomplish their goals and create new glorious moments in Paris.

He encouraged the athletes to remain humble and persistent, striving to surpass their personal bests and showcase the bravery of the Chinese delegation to the world. Cheng stressed the significance of winning gold medals ethically and honorably, advising them to seize the opportunity to forge friendships worldwide.

The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, scheduled from August 28 to September 8, will be the 11th Summer Paralympics in which China participates. Established on August 16 in Beijing, the Chinese Paralympic delegation comprises 516 members, including 284 athletes. Among the athletes, there are 126 males and 158 females, with an average age of 25.8.
