As the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics unfold, Chinese athletes are not the only ones capturing the world’s attention in the French capital. The vibrant showcase of Chinese culture is adding a rich tapestry to the global event, highlighting the deep ties between China and France.
This year marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France. To celebrate this milestone, the China House in Paris has become an iconic site, offering visitors a profound glimpse into China’s rich cultural heritage.
“China House is a window onto Chinese sports and a platform to show Chinese sports culture to the world,” said retired diver He Chong, China’s 3-meter springboard gold medalist from the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, in an interview with CGTN Sports Scene’s Greg Laffradi.
“I think it’s nice to be able to have a place like China House in the city that hosts the Olympic Games to show Chinese culture to people from different countries,” He added.
Beyond the China House, numerous venues across Paris are offering the public an opportunity to experience Chinese culture firsthand. The Musée Guimet is presenting one of the most comprehensive collections of Chinese art in the world, widely regarded as the most outstanding in Europe.
These cultural elements not only enrich the Olympic experience but also foster deeper understanding and exchanges between China and other nations. As visitors from around the globe gather in Paris, the celebration of Chinese culture serves as a bridge, promoting mutual appreciation and collaboration.
