Chinese Boxer Li Qian Makes Olympic History with Gold in Paris

China’s Li Qian won gold in the women’s 75kg boxing category, overcoming Atheyna Bylon of Panama with a 4-1 victory in the final on Saturday, August 10.

Li, hailing from China’s Henan province, previously secured bronze in the women’s middleweight class in 2016 and silver in 2020. With this triumph, she becomes the only woman in Olympic history to have won all three medals in women’s boxing.

These successes contribute to a strong performance by Chinese boxers at Paris 2024, who have collectively secured three gold and two silver medals.
