China Media Group (CMG) held a departure ceremony on Friday in Beijing for its broadcasting team covering the 2024 Summer Olympic Games, set to commence on July 26 in Paris.
Shen Haixiong, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and president of CMG, along with vice presidents Hu Jinjun and Xing Bo, attended the ceremony.
In his address, Shen highlighted that 2024 marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France. He emphasized the significance of the Olympic Games as an important platform for Chinese athletes to showcase their sporting spirit. Shen urged the broadcasting team to strive for excellence and deliver outstanding coverage of the 2024 Olympic Games.
Shen noted that CMG’s cooperation with international sports organizations has reached an all-time high. He stated that the Paris Olympics presents a valuable opportunity to further integrate ideology, art, and technology in media convergence. CMG plans to leverage cutting-edge technologies, including artificial intelligence and 8K ultra-high-definition broadcasting, to enhance its production of international public signals.
As one of the main broadcasters for the 2024 Olympic Games, CMG will deploy a production and broadcasting team of over 2,000 people. The team will utilize “5G+4K/8K+AI” technology to deliver high-quality coverage to a global audience.
