Knicks Trade Four Unprotected Picks to Nets for Mikal Bridges

In a groundbreaking move during the NBA offseason, the New York Knicks have agreed to trade Bojan Bogdanovic along with four unprotected first-round NBA Draft picks for 2025, 2027, 2029, and 2031 to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for rising star Mikal Bridges and a 2026 second-round pick, according to ESPN reports on Tuesday.

This deal also includes a protected 2025 first-rounder via the Milwaukee Bucks and an unprotected 2028 first-round swap. This marks one of the most significant trades in recent NBA history and could serve as a massive boost for the Knicks, who reached the Eastern Conference semifinals last season.

Bogdanovic, acquired by the Knicks from the Detroit Pistons in February, was expected to enhance the team’s spacing and scoring through his isolation play. However, he averaged a career-low 19.2 minutes per game for New York, contributing 10.4 points per contest, including 1.6 three-pointers per game at a 37 percent shooting rate. His limited impact, highlighted by just four appearances in the postseason, prompted the Knicks to make a decisive move.

Mikal Bridges has emerged as a versatile player with strong defensive skills and consistent scoring ability, making him a valuable asset for any team. His addition to the Knicks’ roster is anticipated to strengthen their defensive lineup and add depth to their offensive strategies as they aim for a deeper playoff run in the upcoming season.

The trade has caught the attention of basketball enthusiasts not only in the United States but also across Asia, where the NBA has a substantial following. Fans and analysts in countries like China, the Philippines, and South Korea are eagerly discussing the implications of this trade on the balance of power in the Eastern Conference.

This move signifies the Knicks’ commitment to building a championship-contending team and highlights the global impact of NBA trades. As the sport continues to grow internationally, such high-profile deals resonate with a diverse audience, fueling excitement and engagement around the world.
