Three-time badminton world champions Huang Yaqiong and Zheng Siwei are gearing up for their second Olympic appearance together in Paris, aiming to turn their silver from Tokyo into gold.

The 30-year-old Huang narrowly missed out on the top podium spot alongside her partner Zheng in the mixed doubles final at the Tokyo Olympics. After a brief period apart with different partners, the duo reunited in 2022 and quickly regained their dominant form.

Heading to France, they boast an impressive record of 38 consecutive victories and have secured the world number one spot for the sixth season in a row. As they prepare for the upcoming challenge, Huang is focused on applying lessons from her past experiences to achieve redemption.

“During the last Olympics, I was very cautious in everything I did because I wanted to win too much, which had a counterproductive effect,” Huang reflected. “I was often anxious, which is not like me at all. I’m a very calm person. For this Olympics, I want to be myself again.”

With their remarkable track record and renewed mindset, Zheng and Huang are poised to make a significant impact at the Paris Olympics, inspiring fans worldwide with their pursuit of excellence.
