The former international star was met with thunderous applause and cheers from thousands of local fans who packed the stadium despite it being a workday.

"I had never heard about ‘Cun Chao’ before coming here, and it was a very, very good surprise," Kaka shared, using the affectionate nickname for the Village Super League. "I received such a warm welcome—all the care and love from the people. It has been a great, great experience."

The Village Super League, featuring 20 teams from local villages, has captured the hearts of football fans across China and around the world with its grassroots charm and festive atmosphere. The league has become a beacon of community spirit, showcasing the passion for football that thrives in even the most remote parts of the country.

Inspiring the Next Generation

Invited by the China Friendship Foundation for Peace and Development and a Chinese smartphone brand, Kaka participated in the "Chasing Dreams" charity football event. The initiative aims to bolster youth football development in the region and support the growth of the Village Super League.

"I think it’s really important to promote football among the younger generation," Kaka said after observing a youth match featuring local girls’ teams. "Seeing those girls playing football and chasing their dreams is amazing. One day, I had a dream, and it came true. I hope for those girls and boys, they will have the opportunity to make their dreams come true in the future."

A Cultural Exchange Through Sport

Kaka’s visit highlights the power of football to bridge cultures and inspire people globally. His presence not only offered an unforgettable experience for local fans but also brought international attention to grassroots football initiatives in China.

The Village Super League’s success reflects a growing interest in fostering community-based sports programs that empower youth and celebrate cultural diversity. As more global icons like Kaka engage with such initiatives, the potential for cultural exchange and mutual understanding through sport continues to expand.
