Beijing Guoan delivered a commanding performance to defeat Nantong Zhiyun 5-2, while Chengdu Rongcheng overwhelmed Qingdao West Coast with a staggering 7-0 victory in the Chinese Super League (CSL) on Sunday.
Beijing Guoan surged ahead early in the match with headers from Fabio Abreu and He Yupeng within the first eight minutes. Nantong Zhiyun’s Zheng Haoqian narrowed the deficit in the 23rd minute.
In the second half, Cao Yongjing extended Beijing’s lead to 3-1. Despite a long-range goal from Nantong’s David Puclin, Beijing sealed their victory with late goals from Abreu and Fang Hao.
\”We had a great start today but didn’t stay focused all the time. Our team needs to create more opportunities offensively and maintain the momentum,\” Beijing head coach Ricardo Soares remarked after the game.
Meanwhile, Chengdu Rongcheng delivered a dominant display against Qingdao West Coast. Wei Shihao, Felipe Silva, and Elkeson each netted two goals, with Mirahmetjan Muzepper adding another to complete the emphatic 7-0 triumph.
In other CSL matches, Shanghai Shenhua edged past Shenzhen Peng City 1-0, Shanghai Port defeated Cangzhou Mighty Lions 4-1, Qingdao Hainiu secured a 3-1 win over Tianjin Jinmen Tiger, and Changchun Yatai and Henan FC settled for a goalless draw.
