Dramatic Own Goal Sees Juventus Salvage Draw Against Cagliari

A dramatic own goal by defender Alberto Dossena late in the match allowed Juventus to claw back from a two-goal deficit to secure a 2-2 draw against Cagliari in Serie A action on Friday. The thrilling encounter at Cagliari’s home ground saw the hosts take a commanding lead in the first half, thanks to two penalties.

Cagliari capitalized on their opportunities early on, putting Juventus on the back foot. However, the visitors showed resilience in the second half, pushing forward in search of a comeback. The turning point came when Dossena inadvertently turned the ball into his own net, sparing Juventus from a sixth consecutive away defeat.

Despite the draw, Juventus' struggle to find form on the road continues. With only one league win in their last seven fixtures, they remain third in the Serie A standings with 64 points from 33 games. Their position in the top four is not yet secured, as they sit five points ahead of fourth-placed Bologna. Juventus are aiming to return to the Champions League after missing out on European competitions this season.

Cagliari, on the other hand, are 14th with 32 points, five points clear of the relegation zone. The result provides a valuable point for them as they seek to ensure their survival in Italy's top flight.
