As the countdown to the Paris Olympic Games reaches the 100-day mark, Chinese State Councilor Shen Yiqin has called upon the nation’s athletes and coaches to intensify their training efforts in the final stretch before the global event.

During her visit to the training bases of China’s fencing and shooting teams in Beijing on Wednesday, Shen engaged with athletes, coaches, and staff, emphasizing the significance of this crucial preparation period. She observed firsthand the rigorous training regimens and discussed strategies to enhance performance.

“Now is the time to heighten our sense of mission, responsibility, and honor,” Shen remarked. “I urge all athletes and coaches to train diligently, refine your skills, uplift your spirits, and strive for excellence in Paris.”

Shen also highlighted the importance of integrity and sportsmanship, particularly in adhering to anti-doping regulations. She encouraged the teams to compete honorably, ensuring that their quest for medals is conducted morally and cleanly.

The Paris Olympics, scheduled from July 26 to August 11, will see athletes from around the world gather in the French capital. China’s delegation is expected to be a strong contender across various disciplines.
