Tristen Newton was named the Most Outstanding Player (MOP) after delivering an impressive performance with 20 points, five rebounds, and seven assists. He led the Huskies in points, assists, three-pointers made, as well as free throws earned and made. Newton also matched teammates Stephon Castle in field goals made and Alex Karaban in offensive rebounds, showcasing his all-around contribution to the team’s success.
“It’s an incredible feeling to make history with this team,” Newton said after the game. “We worked hard all season, and to defend our title means everything to us.”
