Iran Firmly Rejects US Negotiations Amid Escalating Regional Tensions

Iran has categorically dismissed recent claims of diplomatic engagement with the United States, with military spokesperson Ebrahim Zolfaghari stating on Wednesday that "strategic defeat" defines Washington's current position in West Asia. The remarks come amid heightened regional instability following last month's deadly attacks on Iranian cities by US-Israeli forces.

Zolfaghari, representing Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, refuted US assertions about ongoing negotiations, emphasizing that Tehran "will not come to terms" with Washington. His comments follow unverified reports of a proposed 15-point ceasefire plan circulated by US officials this week.

The spokesperson characterized US diplomatic overtures as products of internal political strife, asserting that regional stability "is guaranteed by the Iranian armed forces." Energy analysts note these developments come as global markets remain sensitive to potential supply disruptions, with Brent crude prices fluctuating near $92/barrel this week.

This year's February 28 attacks, which resulted in significant casualties including Iran's former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, continue to shape Tehran's foreign policy stance. Iranian retaliatory strikes against US-Israeli targets have kept regional security concerns at the forefront of international diplomatic agendas.
