DPRK Slams US ‘Golden Dome’ Missile Plan as Threat to Global Security

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) has sharply criticized the United States' proposed 'Golden Dome' missile defense system, labeling it a "very dangerous" escalation that could destabilize global security. In a memorandum released Monday, the DPRK accused the U.S. of advancing a space militarization agenda aimed at enabling nuclear warfare beyond Earth's atmosphere.

The $175 billion initiative, announced last week by former U.S. President Donald Trump, includes space-based interceptors designed to counter advanced missile threats. The DPRK argued the plan seeks to "establish outer space-based military infrastructure" to support U.S. dominance, calling it a "typical product of 'America first' arrogance."

Analysts note the DPRK's statement reflects growing regional tensions over military modernization. The memorandum warned that integrating allied forces into the U.S. defense network could drag partners into future conflicts, further eroding international stability. This development comes as global powers increasingly prioritize space as a strategic frontier, raising concerns among researchers and policymakers about a new arms race.

For investors, the heightened geopolitical risks could impact Asian markets, particularly defense and technology sectors. Meanwhile, diaspora communities and travelers are urged to monitor cross-border tensions that may influence regional advisories.
