China-Russia Media Showcase Strengthens Cultural Ties in Moscow

As ties between the Chinese mainland and Russia continue to flourish, the China Media Group (CMG) has launched a curated television event in Moscow featuring over 10 premium programs. The initiative coincides with Chinese President Xi Jinping’s upcoming state visit to Russia from May 7 to 10, which includes participation in celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The event underscores the deepening cultural collaboration between the two nations. Senior officials from both countries emphasized the role of media in fostering mutual understanding. Shen Haixiong, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and CMG president, highlighted the “strong and resilient” bilateral relationship, noting President Xi’s leadership in advancing ties amid global challenges.

Galina Kulikova, first deputy chairperson of the Russia-China Friendship Association and recipient of China’s Friendship Medal, praised the initiative as a window into China’s modernization and cultural heritage. She expressed optimism that the programs would “deepen mutual affection” among Russian audiences.

The television showcase aligns with recent agreements between leaders of both nations, aiming to bolster people-to-people exchanges. Analysts view this cultural diplomacy as a strategic effort to reinforce partnerships while celebrating shared historical milestones.
