Israeli Airstrikes Escalate in Syria Amid Rising Regional Tensions

Israeli military operations intensified across Syria on Friday, with airstrikes reported in Damascus, central Hama Province, and southern Daraa Province, according to Syrian state media and independent monitors. The escalation comes amid heightened regional tensions, raising concerns over potential broader security implications.

In the town of Kanaker, rural Damascus, a drone strike attributed to Israeli forces killed four people, Syrian newspaper Al-Watan reported. Meanwhile, at least 10 airstrikes targeted areas near Harasta, including a military post close to the Harasta Military Hospital, as noted by the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Syria's state broadcaster Al-Ikhbariyah confirmed significant material damage from the attacks but reported no immediate fatalities in some areas. Emergency teams were deployed to assess casualties and damage. In Hama Province, an airstrike on the outskirts of Shahta injured four people, while southern regions near Mothbeen and Izraa also faced bombardment.

The strikes highlight Israel's sustained focus on countering perceived threats in Syria, though no official statements have been issued by Israeli authorities. Analysts warn that repeated military engagements risk destabilizing efforts to de-escalate conflicts in the region, particularly as global attention shifts toward other geopolitical hotspots.
