IDF Targets Hamas Financier, Senior Militants in Gaza Operations

Gaza City — The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Friday it had conducted targeted strikes in Gaza this week, reportedly killing three senior Hamas-linked figures involved in financing, military operations, and propaganda efforts.

Saeed Ahmad Abed Khudari, described by the IDF as a central figure in Hamas’ financial network, was eliminated in Gaza City on Thursday. The military alleged he headed Al Wefaq Co., a fund blacklisted by Israel for routing money to Hamas’ military wing. According to the IDF, Khudari accelerated financial transfers after October 2023 and followed in the footsteps of his brother Hamed, a previous Hamas financier killed in 2019.

Separate operations targeted Mohammed Hassan Mohammed Awad, a Palestinian Mujahideen Movement commander allegedly tied to kidnappings and killings of Israelis, and Mohammed Saleh Mohammed Al-Bardawil, accused of managing psychological warfare campaigns for Hamas.

The strikes underscore Israel’s intensified focus on disrupting Hamas’ operational and financial infrastructure amid ongoing regional tensions. Analysts suggest such actions may impact short-term militant activities but highlight challenges in curbing long-term recruitment and resource networks.
