China Urges Swift Two-State Solution for Gaza Peace

In a recent address, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi called on all parties involved in the Gaza conflict to expedite the two-state solution, advocating for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders.

Wang emphasized that the prolonged delay in resolving the Palestinian question lies at the heart of the Middle East tensions. He highlighted that without implementing the two-state solution, the cycle of violence and retaliatory grievances will persist.

Speaking after chairing the United Nations Security Council's high-level meeting on \"Practicing multilateralism, reforming and improving global governance,\" Wang stressed the importance of transcending differences among Middle Eastern parties to support Palestinian statehood. He also called on the United Nations to take actionable steps to admit Palestine as a full member state.

Wang pointed out that Gaza is recognized as a Palestinian homeland and a critical part of Palestinian territory. He urged that Gaza should not become a pawn in international political maneuvering.

The Foreign Minister further advocated for the continued implementation of ceasefire agreements and the constructive advancement of subsequent negotiations. He underscored the principle of \"Palestinians governing Palestine\" in post-war Gaza governance, aligning with the two-state solution to achieve peaceful coexistence between Palestine and Israel, and long-term stability in the Middle East.
