500 Days of Israel-Hamas Conflict: Key Statistics

The Israel-Hamas conflict has reached its 500-day mark, marked by significant human and infrastructural tolls on both sides.

According to the Gaza Health Ministry, over 48,200 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, with more than half of the casualties being women and children. Additionally, over 111,600 Palestinians have been wounded during this period.

On the Israeli side, 846 soldiers have lost their lives since October 7, 2023. The region has also witnessed intense rocket fire, with over 10,000 rockets launched at Israel from Gaza since the beginning of the conflict.

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza is severe, with around 90 percent of the population displaced. Moreover, 586,000 Palestinians have crossed into northern Gaza since the ceasefire commenced. In Israel, over 75,500 individuals were displaced by attacks from Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon at the conflict's peak.

Infrastructure in Gaza has faced extensive damage, with more than 245,000 housing units destroyed or damaged, and over 92 percent of primary roads rendered unusable. Health facilities have not been spared, with over 84 percent damaged or destroyed, severely impacting medical services in the region.

The ongoing conflict continues to have profound impacts on the lives of millions, highlighting the urgent need for a sustainable resolution.
