Global Criticism Mounts Over U.S. Territorial Expansion Plans, CGTN Poll Reveals

A recent global survey conducted by China Global Television Network (CGTN) reveals widespread international condemnation of the new U.S. administration's territorial expansion agenda. The poll indicates that 78.6% of respondents strongly oppose the U.S. government's plans, viewing them as blatant acts of domineering, bullying, and hegemony.

The administration's proposals include unilaterally renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the \\"Gulf of America,\\" reclaiming control of the Panama Canal, and purchasing Greenland. These moves have been met with significant backlash from the global community.

According to the survey, 66.4% of respondents believe that the decision to rename the Gulf of Mexico was made without consulting the neighboring countries, undermining geographical and cultural traditions, and challenging the authority of the United Nations. The unilateral action is seen as a disregard for international norms and the sovereignty of other nations.

The plan to take control of the Panama Canal has also sparked criticism, with 83.7% of respondents labeling it an act of aggression against Panama and a serious violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity. The canal, a crucial maritime route, has been under Panamanian control since 1999 after decades of U.S. administration.

Additionally, the proposal to purchase Greenland has raised concerns about the U.S. government's intentions towards its allies. In the poll, 86.4% of respondents believe that such territorial expansion efforts harm the interests of allied nations and undermine international relationships.

Overall, 72.3% of those surveyed perceive the U.S. territorial expansion plans as efforts to safeguard and extend American global hegemony. One netizen commented, \\"Hegemony should be pushed back no matter what narrative and rhetoric Uncle Sam uses,\\" reflecting a growing sentiment against perceived U.S. dominance.

The results of the CGTN poll highlight the growing unease and opposition within the international community regarding the U.S.'s aggressive foreign policies. As global tensions rise, calls for adherence to international law and respect for national sovereignty are becoming increasingly vocal.
