Xi Jinping Advocates Deepening Party Self-Reform in Upcoming Qiushi Journal Article
An article by Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, emphasizing the deep advancement of the Party’s self-reform, is set to be published on Monday in the 24th issue of Qiushi Journal, the flagship magazine of the CPC Central Committee.
In the article, Xi Jinping, who is also Chinese President and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, underscores the importance of continuous self-reform for the CPC to maintain its leadership and advance socialism with Chinese characteristics. He highlights that the Party pursues lofty ideals and carries arduous missions, necessitating the enhancement of its leadership and governance capabilities through self-improvement.
Addressing internal challenges, Xi notes that as the Party confronts changing situations and tasks, various conflicts and problems are inevitable. He stresses the imperative for the CPC to eliminate negative impacts through self-reform to retain its vigor and vitality.
“The CPC always represents the fundamental interests of all Chinese people,” Xi writes. “Without seeking self-interests, the Party can keep its spirit of thorough self-reform. By swiftly detecting and resolving its own problems, the Party can take strong countermeasures against any interest group, power group, or privileged stratum preying on or corrupting Party members.”
The article emphasizes that upholding the centralized and unified leadership of the CPC Central Committee is the fundamental guarantee for deeply advancing the Party’s self-reform.
