South Korean President Yoon Suspends State Affairs Ahead of Early Departure

South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol will temporarily step back from foreign and state affairs ahead of his early departure, according to statements made by the leader of his ruling party on Sunday.

Han Dong-hoon, leader of South Korea’s ruling People Power Party, announced during a joint press conference with Prime Minister Han Duck-soo that President Yoon will not participate in official duties prior to his departure.

“We have agreed that President Yoon will focus on personal matters before his early departure,” Han Dong-hoon stated. “During this period, the administration will continue to operate smoothly under the guidance of Prime Minister Han Duck-soo.”

The announcement comes amid growing speculation about the reasons behind President Yoon’s early departure, with analysts suggesting potential impacts on South Korea’s foreign policy and domestic governance.

Prime Minister Han Duck-soo assured the public that government operations will remain uninterrupted. “We are committed to maintaining stability and continuity in all state affairs,” he said.

The details surrounding President Yoon’s departure remain undisclosed, leaving many to watch closely for further developments in the leadership dynamics of the Republic of Korea.
