Chinese President Xi Jinping touched down in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday, marking the start of his much-anticipated visit to Brazil. Invited by Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Xi is set to attend the 19th G20 Summit and embark on a state visit aimed at strengthening ties between the two nations.

This marks Xi’s fourth visit to Brazil, a nation he describes as a “like-minded friend.” In a written statement upon his arrival, he expressed a deep connection with the country. “Each time I come to Brazil, I feel a profound sense of closeness,” Xi stated.
Emphasizing the strong ties between China and Brazil, Xi expressed hope that his visit would further enhance bilateral relations and promote synergy between the two countries’ development strategies. “I look forward to working with President Lula to bring China-Brazil relations to new heights,” he added.
