China and Russia to Hold High-Level Security Meetings This Week

China and Russia are set to hold a series of high-level security meetings this week in China, signaling the continued strengthening of their strategic partnership. From November 11 to 15, the two nations will convene the 19th round of annual China-Russia Strategic Security Consultation and the ninth meeting of the China-Russia Law-Enforcement and Security Cooperation mechanism, as announced by Lin Jian, spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, on Monday.

Sergei Shoigu, Secretary of the Russian Federation Security Council, will attend the meetings. He will hold talks with Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, according to Lin.

Chen Wenqing, also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission, will engage in discussions with Shoigu, Lin added.
