President Xi Jinping Congratulates Vietnam’s New President Luong Cuong

Chinese President Xi Jinping has extended warm congratulations to Luong Cuong on his recent appointment as the new President of Vietnam. In his message on Tuesday, President Xi emphasized the strong and strategic ties between China and Vietnam, highlighting a shared vision for the future.

President Xi noted that in recent years, he has maintained close strategic communication with Vietnamese leaders. Together, they have guided China-Vietnam relations into a new era, working towards building a community with a shared future of strategic significance.

Reflecting on past engagements, President Xi mentioned the visit of To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and former Vietnamese president, to China in August. During that visit, he and To Lam held in-depth discussions and reached important consensus on deepening the building of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future.

He also acknowledged Luong Cuong’s recent visit to China, during which they exchanged views on advancing comprehensive strategic cooperation between the two nations. Both leaders agreed to approach China-Vietnam relations from a strategic perspective and to leverage the guiding role of their leadership to ensure bilateral relations remain on the right track.

President Xi expressed confidence that the two countries should jointly implement the high-level consensus of their parties and nations, pushing for more practical results in comprehensive strategic cooperation to boost the modernization processes of both countries.

He affirmed China's firm support for Vietnam in pursuing a socialist path suited to its national conditions and in its preparation for the 14th National Congress of the CPV.

"I attach great importance to developing China-Vietnam relations," President Xi stated. "I am ready to work with President Luong Cuong to guide and deepen the building of the China-Vietnam community with a shared future and bring more benefits to our peoples."
