China Seeks to Enhance Trilateral Cooperation with Russia and Mongolia

Chinese Premier Li Qiang has expressed China’s readiness to work alongside Russia and Mongolia to deepen mutual trust and strengthen trilateral cooperation. The announcement was made during a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Mongolian Prime Minister Luvsannamsrai Oyun-Erdene on the sidelines of the 23rd Meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Islamabad.

Premier Li emphasized the importance of enhancing coordination among the three nations to promote more sustainable and productive cooperation. He stressed the need to deepen multilateral collaboration through platforms like the SCO, share development opportunities, safeguard common interests, and collectively work towards a new chapter in China-Russia-Mongolia relations.

Prime Ministers Mishustin and Oyun-Erdene acknowledged the steady development of trilateral cooperation under the strategic guidance of their respective heads of state. They noted that expanded exchanges and dialogues in various fields align with the common needs of the three countries and contribute to regional stability.

The leaders vowed to enhance the alignment of the Eurasian Economic Union, the Steppe Road Program, and the Belt and Road Initiative. They also agreed to expedite the development of an economic corridor linking the three countries and maintain close cooperation in areas such as transportation, energy, and people-to-people exchanges.

The commitment of China, Russia, and Mongolia to strengthen their trilateral ties signals a significant move towards fostering regional economic growth and ensuring long-term stability in Asia.
