China and Kyrgyzstan Strengthen Ties at SCO Summit

Chinese Premier Li Qiang affirmed China's commitment to consolidating mutual support with Kyrgyzstan during a meeting with Kyrgyz Prime Minister Akylbek Zhaparov on Tuesday. The leaders met on the sidelines of the 23rd Meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.

Premier Li emphasized the importance of the strategic partnership between China and Kyrgyzstan, highlighting the recent meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, which set a roadmap for building a closer China-Kyrgyzstan community with a shared future. \"China is willing to work with Kyrgyzstan to deepen high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, accelerate infrastructure development, and expand collaboration in new energy, e-commerce, big data, and artificial intelligence,\" Li said.

The two leaders discussed enhancing connectivity between their countries, focusing on improving port infrastructure and stimulating trade and investment. Li called for deepening exchanges in culture, tourism, education, and health to strengthen the bond between the peoples of both nations. He also expressed China's readiness to implement the outcomes of the recent China-Central Asia Summit and to bolster cooperation within the SCO framework to promote regional peace, stability, and development.

Prime Minister Zhaparov expressed gratitude for China's support in Kyrgyzstan's economic and social development. \"Kyrgyzstan values its relationship with China and looks forward to implementing the important consensus reached by our heads of state,\" Zhaparov said. He highlighted the potential for cooperation in constructing the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway and deepening partnerships in finance, mining, education, and tourism.

Zhaparov reaffirmed Kyrgyzstan's support for China's global initiatives, including the vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind. He emphasized Kyrgyzstan's commitment to strengthening multilateral coordination and promoting regional prosperity alongside China.
