Chinese Premier Li Qiang Urges Entrepreneurs to Strengthen China-Vietnam Economic Ties

Chinese Premier Li Qiang has called on entrepreneurs from China and Vietnam to seize new opportunities and deepen cooperation for mutual growth. Speaking at a symposium in Hanoi on Sunday, attended by Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and representatives from both nations, Premier Li emphasized the importance of business collaboration in strengthening the longstanding relationship between the two countries.

“As traditional socialist neighbors, China and Vietnam offer significant opportunities for each other’s development,” Li said. “Economic and trade cooperation is a cornerstone of our bilateral relations and a key driver for our shared progress.”

He highlighted the recent steady advancement of China-Vietnam relations, pointing to fruitful outcomes achieved through joint efforts. Li urged entrepreneurs to align with national development strategies and leverage regional economic agreements such as the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership and the upgraded China-ASEAN Free Trade Area.

Li proposed collaborative initiatives in industry integration, strengthening of cross-border supply chains, and innovation in sectors like clean energy, biomedicine, and artificial intelligence. “We have strong political trust, geographical proximity, and a deep-rooted friendship,” he added. “These are solid foundations for us to expand our cooperation.”

Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh echoed Li’s sentiments, underscoring the significance of deepening bilateral relations. “China is Vietnam’s largest trading partner, and Vietnam is China’s largest partner in ASEAN,” he noted. “Economic cooperation is a pillar of our friendly ties, and we are committed to working with China in the spirit of mutual benefit.”

Chinh pledged to create a favorable business environment for Chinese enterprises in Vietnam and encouraged joint efforts to enhance cooperation in finance, technology, infrastructure, digital and green economies, and supply chain connectivity.

Business representatives at the symposium expressed optimism about future collaborations. They acknowledged that strategic guidance from both nations’ leaders has invigorated economic cooperation. Many are eager to explore opportunities aligned with China’s Belt and Road Initiative and Vietnam’s Two Corridors and One Economic Circle strategy, particularly in finance, infrastructure development, the digital economy, and green energy sectors.
