China and Vietnam Strengthen Ties Amid Global Changes

In a recent meeting, Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Tran Thanh Man, Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam, pledged to deepen cooperation between their countries amid evolving global challenges. The leaders emphasized their commitment to building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future, aiming to jointly navigate external challenges and achieve common development.

Premier Li highlighted the strong momentum in China-Vietnam relations, noting that the bilateral cooperation has advanced in depth and substance in recent years. “China is ready to work with Vietnam to follow the strategic consensus reached by the top leaders of our parties and countries,” Li said. He stressed the importance of carrying forward traditional friendship, consolidating political mutual trust, and strengthening solidarity and cooperation.

Li expressed China’s willingness to enhance exchanges and cooperation with Vietnam’s legislative bodies, strengthen coordination in multilateral fields, and provide solid support for each other’s socialist development. He emphasized the role of legislatures in supporting practical cooperation across various fields, focusing on innovation, and providing legal guarantees to bolster cooperation in emerging industries such as the digital economy, new energy, and 5G technology. “Both countries can work together to cultivate and strengthen new drivers of development,” Li added.

Addressing the importance of people-to-people exchanges, Li stressed enhancing mutual understanding and goodwill between the two peoples, especially among the younger generation. He called for continued efforts to consolidate the social foundation for bilateral cooperation.

Tran Thanh Man congratulated China on its comprehensive development achievements and expressed confidence in China’s progress toward modernization under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core. “Vietnam has always regarded China as a priority and a strategic partner in its foreign relations,” Tran said. He emphasized Vietnam’s commitment to strengthening exchanges with China at all levels and across all fields, deepening traditional friendship, consolidating political mutual trust, and strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation.

Tran highlighted the Vietnamese National Assembly’s dedication to maintaining close exchanges with China’s National People’s Congress, sharing experiences in building socialist rule of law, and promoting people-to-people friendship. He affirmed that these efforts aim to inject new impetus into the Vietnam-China community with a shared future.
