An exhibition titled “Russia-China Friendship through the Ages” has opened at the State Museum of Political History of Russia in St. Petersburg, marking the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
Running until February next year, the exhibition offers visitors a unique opportunity to trace the historical ties between Russia and China. Many of the exhibits are being displayed publicly for the first time, providing fresh insights into the evolving relationship between the two countries.
The opening ceremony on Tuesday was attended by representatives from both nations, including Luo Zhanhui, the Consul General of China in St. Petersburg, officials from the St. Petersburg government, as well as historians and public figures.
Sergey Rybakov, the museum’s director general, highlighted the significance of the friendship between Russia and China in his remarks. “The exhibits showcase how our countries’ friendship has grown and strengthened, becoming an example of mutually beneficial cooperation for the rest of the world,” he said.
Luo Zhanhui echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the role of friendship in bilateral relations. “The exhibition demonstrates the important role that friendship plays in the relationship between our countries, both in the past and present,” he noted.
The event also featured a symphonic concert performed by Russian and Chinese artists, along with workshops on Chinese calligraphy and dance, further highlighting the cultural exchange between the two nations.
