Chinese Mainland Condemns U.S. Military Aid to Taiwan Region

The Chinese mainland has strongly condemned the United States for its recent approval of a military aid package to Taiwan, warning that such actions will lead to dire consequences for the U.S. itself.

On Monday, Lin Jian, a spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, addressed the issue at a press conference, stating that the U.S. has “seriously violated the one-China principle and the three Sino-U.S. joint communiques, especially the August 17 Communique.”

“In essence, this action serves to embolden Lai Ching-te and the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities in their stubborn pursuit of ‘Taiwan independence’ and their provocation of the one-China principle,” Lin said.

Lin emphasized that the greatest threat to peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait is the separatist activities of the ‘Taiwan independence’ forces and the support they receive from external forces led by the U.S. He stated that these actions disrupt the current status quo and undermine regional stability.

“‘Taiwan independence’ is a dead end, and the U.S.’ insistence on supporting independence through military means will ultimately backfire and result in dire consequences for itself,” the spokesperson warned.

He urged the United States to adhere earnestly to the one-China principle and the three Sino-U.S. joint communiques, calling on Washington to cease arming Taiwan in any form.

“No matter how many weapons the U.S. provides to Taiwan, it will not shake China’s firm resolve to oppose ‘Taiwan independence’ and to safeguard its national sovereignty and territorial integrity,” Lin concluded.
