Qiqihar, China — President Xi Jinping has called upon industrial workers to contribute their wisdom and strength to transform China into a manufacturing powerhouse and to promote the full revitalization of northeast China.
In a heartfelt reply letter to representatives of workers from China First Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. (CFHI), President Xi acknowledged their dedication to technological innovation and product quality. CFHI, a leading equipment manufacturer based in Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province, has been at the forefront of China’s industrial advancement.
Xi remarked, “I have visited CFHI twice and was deeply impressed by your persistent pursuit of technological innovation and excellence. Your recent breakthroughs in tackling core technological challenges exemplify the patriotism and creativity of Chinese industrial workers in the new era.”
Emphasizing the crucial role of manufacturing, Xi stated, “Manufacturing is the foundation of a country and the basis of a strong nation.” He encouraged the workers to uphold their original intention of serving the country with their skills and to promote the spirit of model workers and craftsmanship.
President Xi also urged centrally-administered enterprises to intensify reform and innovation. “Enhance your core functions and competitiveness,” he said, “Work hard to become bigger, better, and stronger. Contribute more to building a great country and advancing national rejuvenation through Chinese modernization.”
Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in 2012, Xi has visited CFHI twice, providing guidance on its reform, innovation, and management practices. The recent letter from CFHI workers, who have been recognized as role models, highlighted their efforts in strengthening technological research and development in line with Xi’s instructions. They expressed their determination to be instrumental in the full revitalization of northeast China and the broader goal of building China into a great nation.
